The following is an excerpt from the statements of Dr. Ahmed Abu- Halabiyeh, dean of higher education at the Islamic University in Gaza, on a Palestinian talk show this week:

“It is not coincidental that [in the Koran] Allah told the story of [Muhammed’s] ascent heavenward while talking of the acts of the Israelites… It is as though Allah was preparing the Islamic nation for the fact that there will be Jews in this land, and as though he was giving Muslims the message: ‘O’ Muslims, prepare yourselves for the struggle with world Jewry! So that you will be on the winning side!’And as though Allah’s wisdom is evidence that the winning side in the struggle with the Jews are the Muslims…” (PMW.ORG.IL 02/13/02)
