Two residents of Neveh Tsuf (Halamish) in the West Bank reportedly clashed with Palestinians on Friday afternoon over the uprooting of an olive tree.

One of the settlers fired in the air and another attacked a Palestinian youth, wounding him. The wounded Palestinian´s condition is as yet unknown.

The two settlers have been brought in for questioning by the police.

More to follow.

Also on Friday, police discovered a stash of 60 tires off of Road 60 at the British Police junction near Ofra.

The police and the IDF are investigating. The suspicion is that the tires were to be used to block highways during anti-disengagement demonstrations. (© 1995-2005, The Jerusalem Post 05/06/05)
