Two Palestinians were killed by IDF gunfire in separate incidents in
the West Bank and the Gaza Strip over the weekend.
In Jenin in the West Bank, Ibrahim Jalamneh, 10, was killed by IDF
gunfire after an armed Palestinian located in a demonstrating mob
opened fire at the soldiers who returned fire. The IDF said it was
investigating the incident which occurred during clashes with

In the Gaza Strip on Saturday, security forces shot and killed Ahmed
Hussein, a 25 year old Hamas member who they they spotted approaching
the north Gaza security fence and feared he was about to place a
bomb. Searching the area shortly after IDF forces found near
Hussein´s body a 20 kilogram bomb, a Kalashnikov rifle and a flac
The bomb was blown up by Border Police sappers. Early Friday morning,
reservists who shot and killed a Palestinian spotted crawling towards
Netzarim in the north Gaza Strip late Thursday found on his body a
Kalashnikov rifle, ammunition clips, and a bag containing a number of
IDF officials said the Palestinian wore tiger striped fatigues and
noted that the quick and rapid response of the reservists on Thursday
night prevented another infiltration into Netzarim.
Elsewhere in the Gaza Strip over the weekend, Palestinians fired
three mortar shells at Israeli communities in Gush Katif and the
north Gaza Strip. No one was wounded in the attacks.
Shots were fired a number of times at IDF soldiers and army posts
near Rafah as well as at an IDF post near Gadid in Gush Katif. On
Friday morning shots were fired at an Israeli convoy of vehicles as
it left Netzarim, no one was wounded and no damage reported. A bomb
was detonated near an IDF mechanical vehicle deployed near Rafah, no
one was wounded in the attack.
In the West Bank, IDf forces carried out a number of arrests, in
Atsira A Shamaliya near Nablus four fugitives were arrested, and four
Tanzim fugitives armed with weapons were arrested by security forces
in a wadi next to Kfar Ein Matspun near Ramallah.
Two fugitives were arrested in Yabed south west of Jenin and two in
Ramallah. Shots were also fired at soldiers deployed in Nablus.
