No Bulgarian officials present to pay respects at Mustafa Kyosev’s
funeral
Mustafa Kyosev, the Muslim Bulgarian bus driver killed in the Burgas
airport bombing on Wednesday, was laid to rest Friday in his hometown
of Yurukovo, Bulgarian media reported on Saturday.
Unlike the Israeli victims of the bombing, whose coffins were brought
home by Israeli air force planes and deplaned at a ceremony attended
by Israeli government officials, no Bulgarian officials attended
Kyosev’s funeral.
Kyosev, 36, belonged to Bulgaria’s ethnically Turkish, Muslim
minority, which comprises 8% of the country’s 7 million people.
