Thousands of officers on duty in advance of Muslim worship at Temple
Mount
Thousands of police and Border Police officers were dispatched across
East Jerusalem on Friday in preparation for the first day of the
Muslim month of Ramadan, Israel Radio reported.
Israel Police clarified that it will take every precaution to prevent
public disturbances during the holiday.
Restrictions on Palestinian worshippers trying to enter the city were
laxed for the first time in several years. Men aged 40 and over and
under 12 and all female worshippers could enter Jerusalem from the
West Bank without a permit.
