Gunman approaching border near Erez crossing shot. Incident follows
interception of two Gazans near Israel-Egypt border
IDF soldiers deployed near Erez crossing killed an armed terrorist
approaching the Gaza border fence, Friday. No injuries were reported
among the soldiers.
The incident took place near the same area by which a terror cell
fired at a restaurant near the Yad Mordechai Junction, earlier this
week.
Earlier Friday, the IDF said that Border Guard forces fired at two
suspects who infiltrated the Israel-Egypt border overnight.
One of the suspects was killed and the other was injured.
The incident took place near a part of the border fence that is still
under construction.
According to available details, the two were identified as residents
of Gaza Strip. According to military sources, it is still unclear
whether the two were smugglers or terrorists.
