Ibrahim Hamed convicted of launching series of terrorist attacks in Jerusalem which killed 46 Israelis, left more than 400 wounded

Head of Hamas´ military wing in the West Bank Ibrahim Hamed has been sentenced to 54 life sentences after being convicted of 46 counts of murder relating to a line of terrorist attacks.

The Ofer Military court also found him guilty of four counts of accessory to murder and four counts of attempted murder.

Hamed, 47, was arrested in 2006. He was convicted of having direct involvement in a string of terror attacks in Jerusalem, including the 2001 attack in Zion Square, which left 10 dead; the 2002 attack in Café Moment, which claimed 11 lives; the 2003 suicide attacks on Café Hillel, which left seven dead and 57 wounded; and the 2003 shooting attack in Zerifin which left nine dead.
