Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Alice Walker is seeking to stop the translation of her novel “The Color Purple” into Hebrew for sale in Israel. She pronounces herself an agent of all that is good and moral.

Actually, Walker is a fellow traveler of Hamas, which is once again firing rockets into Israel, and she is so deranged by anti-Israel fever as to verge on anti-Semitism.

Walker is an adherent of the odious BDS movement — boycott, disinvestment and sanctions — which finds the Jewish state guilty of, essentially, the sins of existence and self-defense. She sees her part as barring distribution of her book in Hebrew, the national language of Israel.

Since “The Color Purple” will remain available in English in a country where English is widely spoken and read, Walker’s message is one of repugnance for the heart of Jewish culture. Good and moral? Vile is more like it. (© Copyright 2012 NYDailyNews.com. 06/20/12)
