Deputy Minister Ayoub Kara spoke to Arutz Sheva on Sunday about the
deteriorating situation in Syria and about the close ties between
Syrian President Bashar Assad, Iran and the Hizbullah terror group.
Kara spoke following remarks by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu,
who said on Sunday that the “face of the evil axis” of Iran, Syria
and Hizbullah” has been bared for the world to see with whom Israel
is living” as neighbors.
He said that while the Syrian-Iranian connection has been well-known
for a long time, it now turns out now that there is not one Syrian
representative who was not educated and trained in Tehran.
Kara told Arutz Sheva that all the Syrian officers are currently
connected to Iran, so that even if Assad chooses to renounce Iran,
the issue is no longer in his hands.
“Assad is the last remaining supporter of the Ayatollah regime,” he
said, adding that “those who are slashing the throats of Syrian
babies are members of Hizbullah.”
As for the suspected use of chemical weapons and other unconventional
weapons against the rebels in Syria, Kara said he received several
videos that were taken in Syria and which prove that the killing was
not done using light weapons. In one of the videos, he said, bloated
bodies can be seen, indicating the use of hard chemicals.
Kara also said he has seen a number of videos in which “black clouds
appear while the sun is shining.” These clouds were seen over a
village, which in later photographs appeared entirely deserted, even
of vegetation. “This must be a result of chemical or other weapons,”
he said.
He noted that Israel does not want to be seen as taking sides in the
conflict but, being part of the free world, it feels compelled to act
to rescue the beleaguered citizens. Stuck between a rock and a hard
place, Kara said that Israel is working to spread the information and
evidence it has received in different ways, some of which cannot be
detailed.
Kara explained his comments on Saturday, when he said that Israel
would be willing to help treat casualties from the ongoing fighting
in Syria. He said that the idea is to bring the casualties to Israel
in order to examine what materials were used against them by Assad´s
forces. (IsraelNationalNews © 2012 06/11/12)
