(CNSNews.com) - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, in thinly
disguised criticism of the United States, indicated that America is
like a “wolf” that has started numerous wars across the globe with
the help of Israel.
"A wolf has emerged in modern time who wants to swallow up the
world,” said Ahmadinejad on Wednesday, while speaking to an audience
at Beijing University, as reported by the Islamic Republic News
"This wolf has initiated several wars in the world,” he said, “and
along with the Zionists it is suppressing and imposing pressure on
the Palestinian nation.”
As reported by the state-run news agency, Ahmadinejad also touted the
alleged humane societies of Iran and China that, he added, bolsters
the credibility of both countries to promote peace throughout the
"Both nations have recorded cases of fighting against colonialists,”
"In the present-day world, we need rulers who are from the people and
are righteous,” he said. "The mission of the Iranian and Chinese
governments is to spread love and peace across the world.
Universities have an important role in this regard."
This week, Ahmadinejad is attending the Shanghai Cooperation
Organization (SCO) leaders’ summit in Beijing. Iran is not a member
of the SCO, but rather an “observer,” along with India, Pakistan and
Mongolia. Six countries -- Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan,
Tajikistan and Uzbekistan -- are actual SCO member states.
While at the summit, Ahmadinejad is slated to meet with Russian
President Vladimir Putin as well as Chinese President Hu Jintao.
