Residents of Jewish communities in the eastern part of the Gush Etzion Regional Council blocked one of the intersections in the area on Wednesday evening, in protest of the ongoing rock attacks by Palestinian Authority Arabs.

The residents said that the rock throwing attacks by PA Arabs at Israeli vehicles in the area have been getting momentum recently. They blocked the intersection to Arab-owned for two hours.

The rock attacks have indeed been on the rise and Arutz Sheva has been reporting almost every night of Arabs throwing rocks at Israeli vehicles traveling on roads in Gush Etzion.

An Israeli vehicle was damaged on Tuesday morning when it was pelted by rocks thrown by Arabs near the community of Tekoa. No injuries were reported. Israeli troops were sent to search the scene.

A similar incident was reported Monday afternoon. Rocks were also thrown on Monday morning at an Israeli vehicle southwest of Bethlehem. No injuries were reported.

Local residents said earlier this month that there has been a spike in rock attacks. Such attacks have proven fatal in the past. Last September, Arabs near Hevron hurled a large stone through the windshield of Asher Palmer, 25.

The stone smashed through the windshield, striking Palmer in the head and causing him to lose control of his vehicle. Both Palmer and his infant son, Yonatan, were killed when the car went off the road and down an embankment.

Security officials have also noted the increase in the attacks on the roads of Judea and Samaria and, as a result, the IDF has announced that it intends to act to stop the ongoing terrorist activity. (IsraelNationalNews © 2012 05/24/12)
