Begin Heritage Center poll examines Egyptian attitudes to present and
future relations with Jerusalem
Egyptians want to maintain peaceful relations with Israel, but they
also want those relations to be cold, a new survey shows.
As the Egyptian people ready themselves to choose new leadership, and
following the Arab Spring, the survey by Jerusalem’s Menachem Begin
Heritage Center found that 75% of respondents prefer peace with
Israel — although 18% prefer war.
The poll, reported on Channel 2 on Monday night, also found 93% of
Egyptians believe that the peace with Israel is a cold one, and that
80% want it to remain that way.
