While our national attention is focused on jobs and the economy,
Muslim Brotherhood front organizations in America are furiously
working behind the scenes, sometimes with the assistance or
acquiescence of top government officials, to change how we respond to
the threat of terrorism.
ISNA, the Islamic Society of North America, posted on its website on
Feb. 14, 2012, that it had met with the FBI regarding revisions to
FBI counterterrorism training materials. In the posting, ISNA stated
that the FBI was making revisions to 300 presentations for reasons
that included “poor taste” and “stereotyping.”
The ISNA post further stated that the group meeting with the FBI
leadership “suggested that a committee of community leaders and
experts be assembled to review training material issued by the FBI.”
ISNA was named an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land
Foundation terrorism financing trial, the largest such trial in the
history of our country. When ISNA filed a petition with the court to
be removed from the list of unindicted co-conspirators, the court
ruled against ISNA, stating, “The Government has produced ample
evidence to establish the associations of CAIR, ISNA and NAIT with …
Hamas.” Hamas is a designated terrorist organization.
ISNA was the first organization named on a list of “our
organizations” in a Muslim Brotherhood “explanatory memorandum”
written in 1991. This memorandum calls for a “grand jihad in
eliminating and destroying Western civilization from within
and ‘sabotaging’ its miserable house by their hands and the hands of
the believers. …”
This memorandum was entered into evidence by our Justice Department
at that same Holy Land Foundation trial and stipulated to by the
legal defense for the Holy Land Foundation. In other words, it’s
authentic.
Which begs an obvious question: Why is the FBI meeting with ISNA and
seeking its input and approval regarding FBI counterterrorism
training materials?
Shouldn’t the fact that ISNA was an unindicted co-conspirator in the
Holy Land Foundation trial, a trial that produced 108 guilty
verdicts, automatically disqualify it from having any input of any
kind into what is contained in counterterrorism training materials?
How can an organization connected to Islamic terrorism be trusted to
have our nation’s best interests at heart when it comes to fighting
Islamic terrorism?
CAIR, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, has also gotten
active in trying to influence counterterrorism training. Last year
CAIR sent letters to local law enforcement entities across America,
one of which was forwarded to ACT! for America by one of our members.
In the letter forwarded to us, which was sent to a county sheriff’s
office, CAIR demands that the sheriff turn over all counterterrorism
materials that may contain references “offensive” to Islam. CAIR
makes its objective clear when it states in the letter “… we believe
that by reviewing and possibly improving training materials” that the
sheriff’s office will be “more effective” in its policing of
terrorism.
CAIR then spells out what references it is concerned about: “Islam,
Islamists, terrorism, counterterrorism, extremism, homeland security,
Muslims, the Muslim Brotherhood, Islamic law, Shariah, jihad,
radicalization, or CAIR.”
As WND readers know, CAIR was also an unindicted co-conspirator in
the Holy Land Foundation trial. What’s more, since that trial the
Justice Department has affirmed that CAIR is connected to the
terrorist organization Hamas. This affirmation led to the FBI
severing official outreach efforts to CAIR.
So here we have another instance where an organization with ties to
Islamic terrorism is demanding a role in providing input into
counterterrorism materials. Only in an America shackled by the chains
of political correctness would such demands be taken seriously.
During the week of May 7, ACT! for America submitted an open letter
to congressional committee chairmen with FBI oversight
responsibilities, expressing our concern about what is happening to
FBI counterterrorism training materials. That same week, several
members of the House Judiciary Committee sharply questioned FBI
Director Robert Mueller about these revisions.
We will continue this outreach to Congress during our National
Conference & Legislative Briefing in Washington, D.C., June 27–29. We
expect more than a dozen key members of Congress to meet with us
during this conference, and our message will be clear: Don’t let
political correctness compromise our counterterrorism efforts.
We must not overlook the phrase in the Muslim Brotherhood explanatory
memorandum that says “sabotaging its miserable house by their hands.”
Perhaps the most effective tactic of the Muslim Brotherhood and its
affiliated organizations is getting government, media and academic
elites to do its job. The politically correct-driven fear by these
elites of being called “Islamophobic” makes them easy targets for
Muslim Brotherhood propaganda.
The result is an ongoing, systematic purge by the Obama
administration of references to radical Islam in the counterterrorism
strategic threat assessments and training materials. Unless enough
Americans are alerted to this purge and voice their opposition, the
damage to our national security will be incalculable. (© 2012
