Pro-Israel Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann is fighting for her political life after being “gerrymandered” for what she says “standing up to President Obama.”

She has also has angered her conservative supporters by taking out dual citizenship in Switzerland – and then withdrawing it after an outcry.

In a letter to supporters, Rep. Bachmann, whose campaign for the Republican presidential nomination took off like a rocket and then crash-landed, she said that re-drawing of districts in Minnesota has left her home outside of the area she represents.

“In retaliation for repeatedly standing up to President Obama on the national stage, liberal judges have redrawn the lines of my Minnesota Congressional District to try and wipe me off of the political map once and for,” she wrote in a appeal for money.

Rep. Bachmann also stated that defeating President Barack Obama will “restore honor to America´s name across the globe.” However, the Tea Party caucus chairwoman suffered an angry tirade from conservatives for using her husband’s Swiss origin to take out dual citizenship in March.

She withdrew her citizenship last week to “make it perfectly clear” that she’s a “proud American citizen. She was labeled a “traitor” on some conservative blogs, Politico reported.

Technically, she could have run for office in Switzerland after taking out citizenship. One of her former staffers told Politico, “She didn’t think there was anything wrong with holding or applying for Swiss citizenship while serving as a member of the U.S. Congress…. But one might think she’d be better served to focus first on her constituents in Minnesota and then on her fellow citizens in Switzerland.” (IsraelNationalNews © 2012 05/15/12)
