The haredi neighborhood continues to fly black flags to mourn
the ´sad´ day Israel was born, and they´re due to stay up until
Jerusalem Day
Remembrance Day and Independence Day have already been and gone this
year, but black flags "mourning" the founding of the state of Israel
remain aloft in Jerusalem´s Mea Shearim neighborhood.
Activists from the Neturei Karta sect first hung the flags above an
apartment building in Geula´s Shabbat Square to protest Independence
Day celebrations.
