IDF Chief of General Staff Benny Gantz decided Wednesday to remove Lt.-Col. Shalom Eisner from his post as deputy commander of the Jordan Valley Brigade, after reviewing the findings from an investigation into an incident when Eisner slammed his service rifle into a pro-Palestinian activist´s face.

According to the decision, Eisner will also not be able to serve in a command position for the next two years and will not take up his post in the summer as deputy commander of the Bahd 1 officers training school.

On Tuesday, OC Central Command Maj.-Gen. Nitzan Alon presented the findings from his investigation against Eisner to Gantz.

Eisner was suspended from his post on Sunday after he was caught on tape slamming an M16 rifle in the face of a Danish activist in the West Bank.

The incident took place on Saturday during a pro- Palestinian demonstration on Road 90 in the Jordan Valley.

Earlier Wednesday, The Palestinian videographer who videotaped an attack on a Danish pro-Palestinian activist by Lt.-Col. Shalom Eisner over the weekend told Army Radio on Wednesday he will cooperate with an IDF investigation into the incident.

Bakr Muhammad Abdel Hak said "I will give them my full testimony and give them the (video) recording so that they can know the truth and so the officer is brought to justice for what he did," according to Army Radio.

The videographer was summoned to testify by the military police at an IDF base near Nablus, according to the report. JPost.com staff contributed to this report. (© 1995-2011, The Jerusalem Post 04/18/12)
