Anti-missionary group Yad L´Achim warned Tuesday that missionaries
have been handing out leaflets inviting people to kosher public
Pesach Seders that are in fact missionary events.
"The shocking public Seders that the missionaries are holding in a
series of places, of which Yefet Street in Yafo is the central one,
is disgraceful," the group stated. "This only proves that we all must
work to bring about the legislation of the Missionary Law and put an
end to the missionaries´ atrocious activities."
The group said that the events demonstrate "the unbearable ease with
which missionaries feel free to act as they please, including lying
to entire sectors of the public, on their way to achieving their
nefarious goal of causing Jew to leave their religion."
Yad L´Achim is preparing unspecified "countermeasures," it said, and
at the same time, it is preparing a number of public Seders of its
own. These are largely intended for groups including Russian-speaking
immigrants, "survivors" of missionary activities, and other
populations that can potentially be preyed upon by missionaries.
The Seders will be held in Haifa, Netanya, Ramat Gan and Holon.
During the days of Chol Hamoed, Yad L´Achim will conduct "seminars on
wheels" for at-risk people in the form of pilgrimages to the tombs of

would "end missionary activities, which ironically are now permitted
under the present law, which only bans apostatizing minors or bribing
