Police say 55-year-old haredi man was attacked by Arab youth wielding
an ax near city´s Nablus Gate. Assailant flees scene; police launch
manhunt
A 55-year-old haredi man was lightly hurt Monday after being attacked
with an ax in Jerusalem´s HaNevi´im Street.
The assailant, who according to reports was an Arab youth, fled the
scene on foot.
The police launched a manhunt and are canvassing the area.
The Police said the attack took place near the city´s Nablus Gate.
According to police sources, "An Arab assailant attacked a Jewish
haredi man near Nablus Gate. He struck him on the head and the two
struggled shortly, before the assailant fled the scene."
The ax was reportedly found at the scene.
