Few hours after shells explode in Eshkol Regional Council; Israeli aircraft fire at open areas in Hamas-ruled territory

Israeli aircraft opened fire Thursday evening towards open areas in the Khan Younis area in south Gaza as part of the IDF´s efforts to curb terrorist activities in the Hamas-ruled territory.

Palestinian sources in the Strip said Israeli aircraft targeted houses located east of Rafah, but there were no reports of any injuries.

The IDF´s activity in Gaza took place just a few hours after three mortars fired from the Strip exploded in open areas in the Negev´s Eshkol Regional Council. There were no reports of injuries or damage in the attack.

Earlier, Palestinian sources in Gaza said five heavy IDF vehicles, accompanied by choppers, entered the Strip to secure a path. Elior Levy contributed to the report (Copyright 2012 © Yedioth Internet 03/29/12)
