GAZA CITY — Palestinian gunners from the Gaza Strip have reported
striking central Israel.
Iranian-sponsored missile and rocket squads have released details of
the
mini-war with Israel in March. The Iranian-sponsored Islamic Jihad
said
it demonstrated extended-range rocket capability by the military wing,
called Quds Brigades.
“The enemy knows that the Quds Brigades is capable of making good on
its promises,” a Jihad operative said.
The operative said extended-range BM-21 Grad rockets struck areas
deemed central Israel.
The operative identified these cities as Ashdod, Kiryat Gat,
Kiryat Malachi and Ofakim.
This marked the first time Jihad claimed responsibility for attacks
on these Israeli cities.
Jihad was said to have fired about 200 of the more
than 300 missiles, mortars and rockets launched from the Gaza Strip
in the nearly week-long conflict.
