Police harassment of residents of Judea and Samaria continues, and
this time a yeshiva student was arrested as he made his way to a
The Honenu legal aid group told Arutz Sheva that the student, who
studies at the Od Yosef Chai yeshiva in Yitzhar, was arrested on
Sunday as he was travelling on a bus on his way to the wedding.
The organization said the student was removed from the bus by the
officers. The student is one of several residents of Yitzhar who were
issued restraining orders last August without the police providing
reasons for the action.
The student, Y, received a phone call from police last week and was
summoned for questioning, Honenu said. Y, who is currently lives in
Jerusalem because of the restraining order he received, told
investigators that the request came on short notice and exercised his
right to ask for the questioning to be postponed.
In response, Honenu told Arutz Sheva, the police told Y that if he
does not present himself when asked, “we’ll get you at a time which
is most inconvenient for you,” a promise on which they followed up

Akiva Hacohen, a Yitzhar resident, was recently accused by police of
espionage, because he warned Jews residing in communities in Judea
and Samaria of impending demolitions of homes. The government later
withdrew charges that Hacohen and four other detainees were spies.
Hacohen has been under house arrest under cruel terms for the past
two months, as his wife recently told Arutz Sheva.
Police recently arrested a resident of Yitzhar for the “crime” of
