Police destroyed the Oz Tzion outpost again Monday night while the
residents were far away, celebrating engagements and meeting in
Kiryat Arba with future residents.
Civil Administration officials joined the police to tear down three
buildings at the outpost, located next to Givat Asaf in Samaria.
“The police knew very well about the celebrations and the meetings,
and chose the moment to arrive and demolished buildings without even
giving us the right to protest,” a resident told the nationalist
Tazpit organization.
The government authorities did not stop at Or Tzion and continued to
Oz Yonatan, next to Kochav Yaakov, where they tore down one building.
The police then continued to Ramat Migron, apparently only to remind
the residents of their presence, and then left without destroying
anything.
The meeting at Kiryat Arba was with a group of people who are
considering joining the outpost, which has been destroyed by the
government several times the past year but which always has been
rebuilt.
A resident of Ramat Migron added that police previously have
destroyed the small community while all of the residents were
attending weddings.
Monday night’s demolitions were a continuation of a series of moves
by Defense Minister Ehud Barak against outposts. Last month, police
arrived at Oz Etzion and declared it a closed military zone after
activists arrived with tools to build structures.
