Comedian Jackie Mason is not in a mood for jokes when it comes
to “settlers,” whom he says protect Israel. “Anyone who is against
them is an enemy,” he said in a video speech on behalf of a proposed
new museum for the expulsion victims of Gush Katif.
John Bolton, former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, and
television personality Glenn Beck spoke at the Thursday night banquet
in New York to raise money for the musuem.
People who make aliyah to Israel and become settlers are the front
line of defense,” said Mason, who is an ordained rabbi.
Referring to American Jews who live in Judea and Samaria and were
among those expelled from Gaza in 2005, Mason said, “They sacrifice
comforts they had in America and gave them up to be on the front
lines of Israel.”
He quoted Ariel Sharon, before he contradicted his own nationalist
policies and launched the expulsion program, as having told
him, “They are doing for more Israel than anybody in the country.”
Mason also said that Israel “not only faces Arabs, they face the
obnoxious hate of all anti-Semites all over Europe who think that
settlers are the cause of the problem of peace in the area.
“Nobody can accept the fact that Jews belong there and Israel has the
right to exist. They don’t even get support from America any more.
Now we have a president of the United States who is giving Israel
nothing but problems…
