Tal Yehoshua Koren, Israeli diplomat´s wife who sustained shrapnel wounds in New Delhi bombing, boards plane home

Tal Yehoshua Koren, the Israeli diplomat´s wife who was injured in a terror attack in New Delhi earlier this week, was released from the hospital on Friday and is on her way back to Israel.

Yehoshua Koren and her family have boarded a special flight on Friday afternoon, organized by the Defense and Foreign ministries. After arriving at Ben Gurion Airport she is expected to be taken to the Sourasky Medical Center in Tel Aviv.

Yehoshua Koren, 40, is married to Alon Yehoshua, 43, a Defense Ministry attaché to the Israeli embassy in the Indian capital.

An initial probe into Monday´s attack revealed that the envoy´s wife left the embassy with her driver after a day of work at the mission in order to pick up her children from school. The explosion took place a short while before she arrived at the school, apparently after a bomb was attached to the vehicle. The bomb was evidently attached to the car. The driver was injured as well.

Yehoshua Koren was hit by shrapnel, which was removed in surgery.

Terror warning issued

Indian media reported on Wednesday that New Delhi police arrested five suspects in connection with the terror attack.

New Delhi police officials did not reveal the suspects´ identities or indicate whether they were tied to Iran or Hezbollah.

Israel accused Iran of perpetrating the bombing, as well a concurrent attempted attack on an Israeli embassy vehicle in Tbilisi, Georgia. Tehran denied the charges.

Also Friday, Israel´s Counter Terrorism Bureau has warned of additional attempts to hurt Israelis worldwide, following the recent attacks in Thailand, Georgia and India.

A senior official in the bureau urged Israelis who are currently overseas to be extra vigilant. The warning was based on information extracted during the interrogation of suspects arrested in connection to the terror attacks in New Delhi and Bangkok. According to the information, Iran and Hezbollah are planning to carry out attacks against Israeli and Jewish targets around the world.
